CIT is moving to a new Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool!
What We’ve Been Using
Previously, CIT utilized ConnectWise Automate as our RMM tool. Additionally, we paired it with ConnectWise Control for remote screen sharing. This setup served us well, but we are outgrowing its performance and capabilities.
The New RMM Tool: ConnectWise RMM
We are transitioning to ConnectWise RMM, a modern product. Notably, it will continue using ConnectWise Control for remote support, ensuring a familiar process. Moreover, this new RMM tool offers greater performance, stability, and scalability. Its modern architecture enables future enhancements impossible with our current tool.
Deployment Process
Initially, we will deploy ConnectWise RMM agents alongside existing Automate agents. Consequently, all supported devices will be available in the new tool before removing them from Automate.
What to Expect
For most users, there won’t be visible changes. However, end-user computers will temporarily display two CIT icons in the system tray during the transition. Furthermore, we will move OS patching, notifications, and alerts to the new tool, disabling these functions in Automate.

Workstation Patching Changes
With ConnectWise RMM, we will download and install approved Windows workstation patches immediately after testing by the ConnectWise NOC. To complete patching, an after-hours scheduled reboot will occur, ensuring monthly Microsoft updates.
Server Patching
Server patching will remain on Saturday mornings between 12 AM and 4 AM, including a reboot. If you have a custom server patch window, we will mirror it in the new tool.
When Is This Happening?
Our CIT Services team will work with you to schedule the installation of ConnectWise and the removal of ConnectWise Automate. Please email support@citsolutions.net or contact your Account Manager with any questions or concerns.
